About Digital Signage

Digital Signage helps departments distribute information in an engaging, interactive manner using large format displays. The primary target audience of most signs at the University are current students, faculty and staff. Though depending on sign location, content may be more directed towards visitors to campus, including prospective students and parents. Regardless of audience, everyone can benefit from having easy access to information about campus news and events. Digital signs can have touch interactivity or be non-interactive, but still display dynamic content.

Penn State University is leveraging digital signage management software from Poppulo. This management suite allows departments to control all of their distributed signs from a central location. It also allows departments to share their content with others, if they choose to do so.

Where would I see Digital Signage at Penn State?

Digital signage can be found just about everywhere at Penn State. There are signs in most office and classroom buildings, several museums, Bryce Jordan Center, Beaver Stadium, Pattee and Paterno Library, the HUB, IM building, dining commons, etc. And that’s just at University Park. All campuses utilize digital signage in some capacity, as well as the Penn State Health locations and all Penn State Athletics facilities.

How to get involved with Digital Signage

Any unit within the Penn State system is welcome to join in the digital signage system. This includes all campuses, colleges, individual units, Penn State Health, Intercollegiate Athletics, and the Pennsylvania College of Technology. If your department is interested in joining the Penn State digital signage network or want to learn more, review the Get Started Guide for information about how to get started.
