While using the Poppulo Harmony system, as well as this website and documentation, you will come across a variety of terms that may not be familiar to you. This document will help provide guidance and information about the terms and where you will see them. Note that depending on your access, you may not see/have access to some of these tools/resources.
Poppulo Harmony:
Library
The library module is where all content for digital signs will be stored.
Folders – These are the folders to organize content within the Library
Table – Poppulo Harmony Tables are used to organize and inform the signs on what content to play and when to play it based upon the information contained within the table. These are essentially spreadsheets with various columns and data.
Playlist – Poppulo Cloud Playlists allow you to easily organize content to play on a sign. These work in a similar fashion to Tables, but with a different interface.
Applet – These are pre-built content items that can be added to your signs. Many can be easily modified to suit your needs.
Devices
The Devices module is where technical staff can access and configure the computers running the Content Player software (the actual sign).
Device – this is the name of the device with Content Player installed
Invite Code – This is the 6-digit code used to authorize and connect a new Content Player machine to the Poppulo Cloud system.
Poppulo Help Community
The online community help for all users.
Content Experience Builder
Content Experience Builder is the program used to create and deploy templates and manage sign locations. This applicatin is only available on PCs (we have a RemoteAPP available for Mac users).

1 – Location (gray folder icon) – This is the main Unit or Building where a sign is located. You can have locations within other locations to organize your signs.
2 – Channel/Content Player (gray rectangle icon) – This is an individual sign. Content players can contain multiple templates
3 – Template (green newspaper icon) – The template is the “bones” of a sign. This is where you design the layout of a sign if you choose to use multiple regions.
4 – Region (blue square icon) – These are the individual parts of a sign template.
5 – Content Item (various icons depending on content type used) – These are the actual content items to display content on your sign. There are many varieties of content items you can choose from depending on your needs. Most signs will use either the Live Data or Content Feed content types to display images, so some more complex signs will utilize many items.
6 – Emergency Channel (satellite icon) – This is required of all signs on the Penn State system (Policy AD76) and will be added for you. You may not delete this channel for any reason. When an emergency alert is activated by Penn State Emergency Services, this channel will automatically take over your screen and display the alert message. When the “all clear” is sent, the emergency message will be removed from your sign and the content will return to normal.
